Indian intelligence warns of risk of "human bomb" hijackers

Indian intelligence agencies have warned that aircraft could be hijacked by "human bombs".

An official of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), which operates the protection of 54 of India's airports, said that the risk of a terrorist inserting explosives or even a knife into his skin is a real threat.

The CISF has asked the Indian government to allow the installation of human body scanners at 16 airports that are categorised as "hypersensitive".

According to Reuters, intelligence agencies in India have also said that airports and dockyards are the top targets for militants, especially Islamist militants fighting Indian rule in Kashmir.
